Thread Lifting is a non-surgical procedure designed to lift sagging skin and rejuvenate the face. Specialized threads are inserted into the skin using a very fine needle, into different areas of the face depending on where you want to target. • What Does “PDO” Mean and How Does it Work – PDO stands for Polydioxanone, a special type of mono-filament that has been used in surgical applications for many years. These threads are dissolvable, but they have other properties that resulted in doctors ultimately using them for non-surgical face lifting techniques. PDO has been shown to relax muscles and tendons, while stimulating the skin to produce new collagen. As collagen-loss is one of the key features of aging, prompting the skin to produce more is the reason PDO Thread Lifting can create such a youthful appearance – especially when combined with the elastin and Hyaluronic Acid production that PDO also encourages.
